This Fall, we’re rallying the entire Herndon community to help bring a new digital scoreboard to the J.L. Griffitts Stadium.

Herndon High School’s stadium - “The Nest” - is a place where memories are made. From Friday night lights to graduation day, it’s where our community gathers to cheer, celebrate, and come together.
While our facilities have seen significant upgrades, the heart of it all—our stadium—needs some extra love. We’re asking for your support in the “Elevate the Nest” campaign to give the stadium the facelift it deserves, benefiting our students, athletes, and the entire Herndon community.
The first question everyone asks is where is the county funding for any/all of this. The short answer is there is none. The scoreboard is slated to be replaced by the county in 2032. No one wants to wait that long, nor would anyone want the basic-level scoreboard that would be installed. We are aiming for a digital scoreboard that is reliable and can display advertisements (to help fund maintenance and additional items for our athletes).

Team Benches: $12,000
Fence/Gates: $35,000
Speakers/Sound System: $60,000
